A century later, the Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC) adopted this date to recall the fact, and a meeting will be held today in the central Cuban province of Villa Clara.
Cuban reporters examine in talks, festivals, homages and debates what kind of journalism can best defend the nation and educate the people.
Cuban Parliament President Ricardo Alarcon recently stated that we must exercise journalism with a critical and revolutionary attitude.
UPEC president Tubal Paez stated that those who defend journalism ethics and are involved in truth and social justice understand they are linked to a fair and human order.
