Operations of Mexicana de Aviacion in Cuba is showing good results, with a sustained demand for capacities and a high occupation index, authorities of the Mexican airline said.
Opciones economic weekly quoted the company s regional manager in the Island, Alvaro Gonzalez, as saying that these results stem from Cuba s tourist attractions, with "cultural, scientific, sports and trade exchanges prevailing between Mexico and Cuba as a main factor." With a presence of over 75 years on the Cuban market, Mexicana de Aviacion closed operations of 2006 with an average occupation rate of about 73 percent, a sustained trend.
The airline operates daily Mexico City-Havana flights, with additional routes, including Varadero, in high tourist seasons.
