The new software package Segurmatica Antivirus Kaspersky Edition, resulting from the cooperation between Kaspersky International Corporation of Russia and the Cuban Computer Security Consulting Firm Seguramaitc was presented during the final session of the 12th International Informatics Convention 2007 that adjourned Friday in Havana.
Users of PCs and servers will now be able to update their lists of malignant viruses every three hours. The program uses the effective Kaspersky Antivirus search engine located in data bases that are updated at three hourly intervals in order to assure users maximum security in their computer operations.
The new Cuban version of this software reduces the costs for local clients and offers higher security for netsurfing on the island.
During the final day of the week long convention an announcement was made setting Informatics 2009 to take place in Havana from February 9 to 13.
"Information and Communications Technologies as a source of wealth for the peoples" will be the motto of this upcoming edition, which besides the regular topics will also include a debate about informatics and culture.
Informatics 2007 came to an end with the closing of the concurrent Sixth International Congress of Informatics in Health Care and the Third International Telecommunications Seminar.
Participants noted that the exchange of experiences and relevant lectures left a positive balance in the effort to apply informatics in the building of a better world.
