With the graduation of 550 new social workers, Pinar del Rio province counts already on 2 000 "doctors of the soul" that contribute to raise the life quality of people in different communities.

Thanks to a wide plan of studies and the direct work with the communities, these new social workers, emerge with an integral formation that gives them the necessary tools to fulfuill their labor.

Master in Science Alexeis Yoan Martinez Robaina, principal of the Social Workers School in Pinar del Rio, stated that this school year the individual attention to the students was strengthened, making emphasis in ethics.

A project devised by the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro in September 2000, the Program of Social Workers counts in the country with 30 000 graduated youths, who continue their university studies in different careers such as Laws, Social Communication, Psychology, etc.
