The folk dance Mi sabor oriental (My eastern flavor), with the artistic direction made by Alberto Morales Masó, obtained the Great Price of the II Provincial Festival of the Jose Marti brigade of Art Instructors that was celebrated in the professional school Manuel Muñoz Cedeño in Bayamo, capital of the province of Granma, with the purpose of promoting and encourage the artistic creation.
In the event took part about 200 members of the brigade in music, dance and theatre in the categories of soloist, groups, troubadour, traditional format, instrumental and musical groups, choir, Cuban and international folk dance, dramatic and children theatre.
Referring to the importance of the event, carried out last week, Isabel Figueredo Zamora, president of the brigade in the territory expressed: "it is an opportunity to raise the professional preparation and at the same time increases our cultural richness, our appreciation of the elements of our own national identity and help us to take to stage those feelings and worries.
Tania Yanes Diéguez, methodologist of the Center of Houses of Culture in Granma, said that "this event exceed both qualitative and quantitative the one made last year, when we take into account the participation of the boys and girls, the variety of the topics and the use of the different techniques".
Granma was the first territory of the country in making these festivals that every year are an space where the young people put into practice the theory learned in the classrooms.
