Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas is hoping that a larger number of nursing students from his country could undergo professional training in Cuba.
PM Douglas, who is leading a six-man delegation on an official visit to Havana, made the statement Sunday after visiting the Training School for Nurses in the province of Matanzas where 27 students from St. Kitts/Nevis are among scores of Caribbean nursing students undergoing nursing training.
"This is a sample of the good relations between our countries and my visit here has the purpose of strengthening these links. Once theses students return to our country, they will make a considerable impact in the population.
