Syria and Cuba to enhance cooperation in culture filed

Cuban Ambassador in Damascus Claudio Ramos Borrego underlined on Monday his "country's keenness to deepen relations with Syria in all domains, particularly in the culture field.
Meeting with Chairman of the Writers Union Hussein Joumaa, the Cuban Ambassador pointed out to the importance of draft culture agreement scheduled to be signed between the Arab writers Union and Cuban Writers stipulating the exchange of books, culture delegations, publishing and translating literature.
For his part, Dr Jomuaa indicated "the depth of ties connecting peoples of the two countries," emphasizing the role of intellectuals and writers to expand channels of communications and in presenting the culture and human history to act asdistinguished ambassadors for their countries.
He underlined the union's readiness to enhance cooperation with Arab writers particularly the Syrians and Cubans, asserting the significance of starting to translate the Arab Syrian literature into the Cuban language and vice versa.
