An official dossier received by Prensa Latina, points out that the firm that was created in 1994 became a tourist company in dynamic expansion, and is looking for the best quality standards.

Habaguanex has today 17 hotels, 33 restaurants, over 60 cafeterias and bars and over 80 shops and markets with a personalized service of recognize international quality.

The name of the company, which belongs to the Office of the Historian of the City, Eusebio Leal, corresponds to one of the first indigenous chiefs who lived in the area where today lays the Cuban capital. The Cuban capital was founded in 1519 and was last November 487 years old.

Created to boost the recreation in the old part of the city, the company has businesses iin the 2.5 square kilometers of that area and also outside the historic center, with businesses with other companies dedicated to the leisure industry.

Among their main proposals is the cultural and historic tourism and has the travel company, San Cristóbal de La Habana.

The document signs out that the social purpose of the company is in the exploitation and management of hotels, restaurants, shops and tourist activities in the historic center.

For its architectonic richness and its preservation the Old Havana was declared in 1982, as a Cultural Patrimony of the Mankind by UNESCO.

Many of their hotels have rooms suitable for the convention tourism and congress, especially for cultural meetings, to which specialist from all over the world are coming.

The company also organizes special diners, as the one of the Cathedral Square, one of the five most important in the city.

However, the hotels deserve a special treatment. They all have colonial values, are different, small and decorated in a very special ways, with pieces of art.

The list includes suggesting names, such as: Santa Isabel, Telégrafo, Florida, Armadores de Santander, Palacio O Farrill, Raquel, San Miguel, Ambos Mundos, Conde de Villanueva, Los Frailes, Comendador and Beltrán de Santa Cruz.

The company also has the following hotels: Tejadillo, Valencia, Park View, Saratoga, el Hostal Valencia and Mesón de La Flota.

The Saratoga Hotel is the newest and most luxurious one -opened one year ago. It is a rebuilt old installation very accepted by travelers from all over the world. As a peculiarity, we have to mention the Conde de Villanueva, that is specialized in cigar smokers.
