To Cuban sport the year 2006 wont pass into history as one of the best first level performances and provided that since early in 2007 there will be opportunities enough to measure again our real sportive potentials, recovery is unavoidable in several disciplines to be able to retain the second place won among competing nations at the upcoming Pan American Games to be held in the Brazilian city of Río de Janeiro next summer.

Over the past 12 months the Islands sports fans enjoyed at most important outcomes in the World Baseball Classic games, where Cuban athletes proved to have a high competitive level enabling them to reach the first position in the world ranking side-by-side U.S. Great Baseball League players.
