University games in eastern Cuba
The eastern Cuban province of Las Tunas and Holguín will host the 8th National University Games in late April.
Las Tunas will hold the competitions in athletics, basketball, table tennis and volleyball.
Holguín will host the competitions in baseball, indoor soccer, musical aerobic gymnastics, judo, chess and karate, in addition to the closing ceremony of the games, during which 66 sets of medals will be in dispute.
Sources from the organizing committee said that 172 coaches and 138 arbiters and judges would participate in the games, which will be preceded by the National Soccer University Championship in Villa Clara.
As part of the teams' training for the competition, students participated in grassroots games in their educational centers.
