Sergio Briceño, director of the entity, told Prensa Latina the commemorative activities will include different artistic expressions from both nations and highlighted the importance of cultural integration of all Latin America and the Caribbean within the concept elaborated by Cuban national Hero Jose Marti.

"This week is an extraordinary opportunity to express that concept of his thinking and work," he added.

Briseño also said Cuban culture week will be celebrated with Venezuelan musicians, poets, and artists "with pride and to honor the historic relations between both peoples."

We would like to recognize with this, in a natural way, the highest representative of the Cuban culture, which is also that of Latin America, he stated.

"Marti left us a legacy of freedom and integration, ethics and honesty, which people should follow to shape and build 21st century socialism," he said.
