The meeting, which will gather more than 600 figures, academics, and promoters, has a scientific program that from June 12-14 will develop some eight simultaneous discussion forums, with cultural diversity as the main topic.
The opening ceremony will be held on Monday, preceded by courses and workshops in early hours to be given by Cuban specialists, about cultural non-material heritage, musical identity and diversity, the artistic education system, and cultural development, starting from the Cuban experience.
The Culture and Development Congresses were first held in 1999, and have always had the role of culture in society as the core theme every two years, consolidating these meetings and gaining them international recognition.
