RIO DE JANEIRO , July 18 - Sarah Trowbridge and Margaret Matia took the gold for the United States once again in the double skiff event. This Wednesday July 18, in the Lagoa Rowing Stadium , they finished the 2 kilometers in 7min06s4. Canadian Peggy Hyslop and Christin McCarty won the silver medal, and finished the competition 2s53 after the Americans. Cuban athletes Yurisleydis Venete and Mayra Gonzalez also got to the podium. They crossed the finish line 6s23 after the gold medalists.

In the lightweight double skiff, Cuban Yaima Velazquez and Ismaray Marerro conquered the highest position on the podium, with 7min25s80. The silver medal went to Mexican Analicia Ramirez Esnaurrizar and Lila Perez Rul Rivero, who crossed the finish line five seconds later and joyfully celebrated their result.
