"Así es Fidel", written by journalist Luis Baez, will open the Reading History Festival ongoing from December 22 to 27 at the Cuba Pavilion in Havana and at several sub-venues around the country.
The book gather anecdotes and testimonies from several people who had contact with the leader of the Cuban Revolution, and adds to the long list of titles by Luis Baez.
The launching of this book is part of a joint initiative of the Young Communist League, the Cuban Book Institute, and the Ministry of Culture aimed at encouraging reading on Cuban history, with new titles by various publishing houses
accompanied by a program that will include music and film screenings, among other artistic expressions.
On Tuesday, the book “50 canciones en años de Revolución” (50 songs in time of revolution), a compilation made by editor Radames Giro from the Jose Marti Publishing House.
Also available will be a textbook on Ernesto Che Guevara. All titles will be available at the 18th edition of the Havana Book Fair, slated for February 12, 2009.
