The event, sponsored by the Retazos Dance Theatre Company, of the Office of the Historian of the City and the Theatre Centre of Havana, from the Ministry of Culture, tries to get the population closer to the alternative languages of the contemporary dance creations.

The web site of the Office of the Historian of the City indicates that a wide spectrum of tendencies and artistic expressions, such as exhibitions, concerts, video art, conferences, workshops and masterly classes, are included in the event.

The IV Video Dance Festival will be held during the same period of time. The festival is calling the interested to take part with works in that format and documentaries about the mentioned genre.

Habana Vieja: Ciudad en movimiento is included, since 1999 in the circuit of Ciudades que Danzan (Dancing Cities), created in Barcelona, Spain and that groups festivals of that art in urban areas in Europe and Latin America.
