The wooded area in Las Tunas province has increased by 14 percent, as a result of strategy boosted so that this territory stops to be the most deforested of Cuba.

The territory begins to increase the rate of forest population, for the power of regeneration of the plants, affected by the hurricanes Ike and Paloma last year that practically razed with part of the mangrove swamps and other wooded trees.
According to the Cuban News Agency, Las Tunas also improves its saline soil with the application of 28 projects that will favor protected areas.
Studies carried out by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment indicate that the costs of the province offer natural conditions to install eolic parks, in views to the generation of renewable energy.
