Local artist and cofounder of the San Antonio de los Baños School of Cinema and Televisión (EICTV), Ovidio González Hernández, opens his latest photo exhibition, En blanquinegros, on Friday in Cienfuegos.
The exhibition is taking place at the Cienfuegos chapter of the Cuban Union of Writers and Artists (UNEAC) where González Hernández has headed the photography laboratory since the center’s founding in 1986.
En blanquinegros is made up of thirty 30 X 40 cm black and white photographs. One of the main series reflects on cinema with four sub-series on the human body, daily life, the city, and music.
Ovidio González Hernández began working with Cuban Institute for Cinematic Arts (ICAIC) in 1963. Over the years, he has been awarded 25 prizes and mentions for his photography.
