The 11th Cuba-Mexico Inter-parliamentary Conference closes Saturday with the signing of a joint declaration, after two days of talks in Havana.

The delegations debated a wide agenda with topics of bilateral interest, making emphasis on the development of relations between the two countries and their respective legislative organs.

The meeting was held in the framework of historic dates such as the 108th anniversary of the beginning of official Cuba-Mexico bonds, and coming celebrations for the bicentenary of pro-independence fights.

In the last session today, the legislators will assess the complex international political situation, and priorities affecting Latin American countries, as well as the importance of unity to face them.

Cuban Parliament President Ricardo Alarcon will make a special address on the case of the five Cuban anti-terrorists jailed in US prisons.

The Mexican Senate recently approved a request for their release, as part of the world movement favoring their cause.
