Sunday, June 9, 2024 by Joseph Morales

A young Cuban living in Paraguay had his first taste of a McDonald's hamburger and shared his reactions on social media through a video, expressing his excitement for what he described as "the most capitalist and American thing I've ever done in my life."

On TikTok, the young man identified as Harche Vlogs, wrote: "It was a distant dream to be able to do these kinds of things, which are frowned upon in my country," confessing that he always saw McDonald's and other international food brands in movies.

"Let's see how it tastes. I'm excited," the Cuban noted in the video, looking astonished at the long line of people also waiting to buy a hamburger.

After "shamelessly" cutting in line, according to his own words, he realized he didn't have enough money to buy at McDonald's, but was helped by the person filming him.

The young man bought the combo which includes the hamburger, fries, and soda.

"It looks nice, doesn't it?" he commented while holding the McDonald's burger in his hand.

"Very tasty, really," he finally said after taking the first bite.

Recently, this young man also admitted that he aims to explore the cuisine of his new place of residence, admitting that the world of new flavors opening up before his eyes has left him amazed.

On TikTok, he expressed: "God, how easy it is to make a Cuban happy!" in a video where he is seen trying various dishes of Paraguayan cuisine.

Usually, when Cubans emigrate, they share chronicles of their culinary discoveries.

Another person, this time a resident in Uruguay, confessed to being in love with the food of that nation.

José Luis Savio explained on Facebook that in his new place of residence he learned that there is a world beyond congrí and pork chops.

"Let me tell you three things that fascinate me about Uruguay," said the man, explaining that until then he was unaware of their existence and, therefore, had never tried them.

The list of discoveries includes mate, dulce de leche, and asado.
