A SUV crashed into a home in Hialeah while two elderly residents were inside, fortunately leaving both uninjured. The incident occurred on Thursday in the 100 block of Southeast 9th Avenue, shortly after 11:00 am.

At the time of the impact, the homeowner, a 97-year-old woman named Juanita, was not near the entrance but in the kitchen preparing lunch. "I thought something had exploded," she told América TeVe.

Firefighters reported that the city's Building Department will assess the home's structure to determine if it is safe. Another resident, who was not at home, revealed that the driver also hit her husband's car that was parked outside. The Hialeah Police did not disclose the driver's identity but mentioned he is 35 years old. He also escaped the crash uninjured. The cause of the incident was that he lost control of the vehicle.

A witness stated that cars often speed through the area. "They think it's a highway," lamented Denis.

Ultimately, authorities declared the elderly woman's home unsafe. "I feel like I've been evicted from my home, at 97 years old," she expressed in distress.
