Cuban boxer Yordenis Ugás recently spoke out about the attack on El Taiger and praised the Cuban community's response to the tragic event. Ugás shared that he has often crossed paths with the singer at karaoke, noting that El Taiger has always shown him respect despite their differences.

"I saw him recently at a Leoni Torres concert and told a guy with him, 'Take care of him.' And during El Chulo's incident, I said, 'Stop that nonsense.' I always had a feeling something would go wrong," Ugás stated. "It's one thing to have differences in opinion, thought, and behavior, but it's another to be fighting for your life in a hospital bed," he added.

Community Solidarity

In a heartfelt Facebook post, the boxer expressed disagreement with those criticizing Cubans for showing solidarity with El Taiger while allegedly ignoring other issues, such as the plight of political prisoners in Cuba. "We wish we could, but now is not the time for that. A young man—with many flaws, like we all have—is fighting for his life, and our community is united in prayer for him to rise from his bed. Our wine is bitter, but it is our wine," he asserted.

He emphasized, "May he recover to become a better person."

El Taiger's Critical Condition

El Taiger remains in critical condition after being shot in the head on Thursday. His health status is unchanged, and doctors have moved him to a more secure ward, according to a post by his team on Instagram. The singer sustained severe brain injuries; the bullet entered through his forehead and exited through the right side of his brain, forcing doctors to remove part of his brain. He remains on life support.
