Workers from 50 Countries to March in Cuba on May Day

<p style="text-align: justify;">More than 1,000 people from almost 50 countries will accompany the Cuban people in marches nationwide on May Day, International Workers Day.Demands that will be heard during those marches include the immediate release of the five Cuban antiterrorists held in U.S. prisons for more than 12 years, said Ermela Garcia, member of the National Secretariat of the Central Organization of Cuban Workers, in statements to Juventud Rebelde newspaper. The new rules allow journalists plus religious and educational groups to travel to Cuba pretty much whenever they want to.They also allow Americans to send up to $2,000 annually to Cuba. <p style="text-align: justify;">At the Sixth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), which concluded last Tuesday, Cuban's leadership introduced a series of political and economic reform measures, sending out a strong message of change.Political leaders will be limited to two consecutive five-year terms in office and young politicians will be given more opportunities in government.The party also approved a policy to allow the private sector to play a bigger role in the market, and to give businesses more freedoms. Cuba to produce extra 40,000 tonnes of raw sugar

<p style="text-align: justify;">HAVANA&nbsp; (April 24, 2011) : The Cuban Sugar Ministry said Thursday it would produce 40,000 tonnes more raw sugar than planned, or somewhere between the 1.1 million and 1.2 million tonnes for the season Reuters has estimated. The Sugar Ministry said a week ago it had met its plan with 18 of 39 mills still grinding."They will add 40,000 tonnes above the plan," the official National Information Agency said on Thursday, citing Deputy Sugar Minister Lourdes Castellanos Jimenez. Feds Ease Restrictions On Cuba Travel, Cash

WASHINGTON, DC (CBS4) – Traveling to Cuba, sending money to relatives, and improving communications to the island officially got easier Friday, with the formal announcement of new rules from the US Treasury.Under the guidelines, which had been widely expected but had been awaiting publication, it is now easier for&nbsp; U.S. schools, churches and cultural groups to visit Cuba. Cuban Cigar-Roller to attempt a New Guinness Record

Cuban cigar-roller Jose Castelar Cairo (Cueto), with four Guinness World Records, will make an attempt to roll a 70 meter-long cigar, starting on Monday, April 25, until noon on May 3, at the Morro-Cabaña Park, in Havana.According to the Opciones newspaper, Cueto will exhibit his work at the 31st International Tourism Fair (FITCuba 2011), scheduled for the Cuban capital from May 2 through 7 with the attendance of national and foreign participants. UNESCO: ALBA to Back Haitian Cultural Reconstruction
