U.S. travel company offers Havana marathon trip

<p style="text-align: justify;">Insight Cuba, a New Rochelle, N.Y.-based people-to-people travel provider, announced it is offering a program that includes participation in the annual Havana marathon Nov. 20. American athletes can participate in a five-day tour Nov. 17-21 that will culminate in the Marabana Marathon, the company announced in a press release. The people-to-people tour may include meetings with the Cuban runners’ association, disabled athletes, touring the ministry of sports, and visiting a local school, Insight Cuba said. Read More

Local fertilizer producer secures Cuba export deal

Wednesday, September 21, 2011.Newport Fersan Jamaica Limited, the island's sole manufacturer of ferlilizers, has secured a deal to supply 98,000 bags or 4,600 metric tonnes of the product to Cuba. Financing for the fertilizers, valued at Can$3 million, will be undertaken through the Export-Import (ExIm) bank's Cuban line of credit.The product will be sent in two shipments, the first of which will be loaded during the first week of October and the second 15 days later, Fersan's managing director Dennis Valdez told Wednesday Business. Marihuana, Hash Oil Seized in Eastern Cuba
