Cuba names gymnasts for Ibero-American Championship in Spain
Cuba's Gymnastics Federation (FCG) said Monday it will send Gerardo Medina, winner of the juvenile Pan-American gymnastics in 2004 in El Salvador, and Yahara Cese, to the Ibero-American Championship slated for Monday to Wednesday in El Ejido, Spain.
US sister-city group highlights Cuba medical achievements
The US Boulder-Cuba Sister City Organization will screen a film at the University of Colorado on Monday presenting Cuba's health care achievements as an example to follow by countries that face serious problems in that important field of society.

Trying to sell more Idaho goods
Idaho Governor Butch Otter is in Cuba this week to help discuss trade between country leaders and the Gem State. Otter is leading a 35 member delegation to Cuba in effort to sell more Idaho goods.

Cuba for the protection of animals
Cuba will adopt legal resources for the protection of animals through the Cuban Scientific Veterinary Council (CCVC) and the Association for the Protection of Animals and Plants.
The document was presented to the Ministry of Agriculture aimed at creating a legal regulation, said Maria Gloria Vidal, a council's specialist, reported AIN, the Cuban National Agency.
Cuba extends healthcare support to Ethiopia
Cuban health professionals are providing medical services in Ethiopia in order to curb the shortage of skills in some medical fields in the African country. Acting head of human resource development in the Ethiopian health ministry, Yohannes Tadesse, on Monday said Cuban health professionals were providing medical services at the Black Lion, St. Paul, Zewditu, Yekatit 12 and Minilik II hospitals in Addis Ababa.
