Great acceptance in Haiti of the Cuban film ¨Roble de olor¨
The Cuban movie ¨Roble de olor¨ (¨Scented oak¨), directed by Rigoberto López, was positively acclaimed in Port au Prince, the capital city from Haiti, on occasion of the Caribbean Itinerant Movie Exhibition, which is taking place this week in that Caribbean nation.

Cuban project to relate childhood with heritage
A project that is to relate children with the heritage of the island will be presented here during the 4to Encuentro Iberoamericano de Museos y Centros Históricos (4th Spanish-Speaking American Encounter of Museums and Historical Centers), stated the organizers.
Jose Marti's unpublished documents found
A number of unpublished documents by Cuban National Hero Jose Marti were presented during a meeting of journalists taking place in the Cuban special municipality of Isle of Youth. The documents, found in a small notebook, were seemingly written at the end of 1894 or at the beginning of 1895.
Cuban divers training for Grand Prix Events
The Cuban top men's diving team - comprised of José Antonio Guerra, Erick Fornaris and Jorge Betancourt - will participate in the fifth and sixth stages of the Grand Prix of diving scheduled for Madrid, Spain, on June 8th, and in Rostock, Germany, on June 22nd.
Scientific projects benefit cuban mountainous environment
Some fifty scientific Project are underway in the western and mountainous Cuban territory to further boost social, economic development and enhance environmental protection. The initiative is part of the Turquino-Manati program, an initiative launched in the 1980?s to improve social and economic living conditions in Cuban mountainous areas.

Santiago de Cubas cathedral turns 485
Santiago de Cuba, a villa founded by conqueror Diego Velázquez in 1522 celebrates its 485th anniversary of being granted the title of "City" as well as its designation as a dioceses as a Cathedral.

Spanish Odette-Odile shines in Madrid
Spanish ballerina Tamara Rojo put a spell on the public gathered at Retiro Park, Madrid, by her Odette-Odile interpretation in the Swan Lake ballet. Directed by Cuban maitre Loipa Araujo and with also Cuban Carlos Acosta as Prince Sigfried, the production was staged in an open-door stage built on a lake.

Silvio sings for free in Chile
The Cuban singer and songwriter Silvio Rodriguez said he will give a free concert in compensation for the recital called off last March in Talca, Chile, due to the elevated prices charged for the entrance tickets.
Cuba to revitalize water system
Over a five year period, Cuba will dedicate about 60 million dollars to restore damaged hydraulic networks in the capital and three provinces of the country.
