Cuban Street Dancing Festival in April

Companies and dancers of 16 countries will participate in the 12th Dance Festival in Urban Landscapes to perform in the streets of the Old Havana Historical Center, organizers reported. The general director of the meeting Isabel Bustos, said that artists from Spain, France, Noriega, Argentina, Colombia, Great Britain, Bolivia, Belgium, New Caledonia, Guatemala and Italy will be present there.

Cuba to increase oil production

Oil production
Cuba will increase oil production by 100,000 tons this year, compared to 2006, according to Carlos Lage Davila, secretary of the Executive Committee of the Council of Ministers. On Saturday, Lage and Basic Industry Minister Yadira Garcia attended the opening of the Siboney 01 well by Empresa de Perforacion y Extraccion de Petroleo del Centro. The well will be 9,580 feet deep and will have a maximum inclination angle of 55 degrees.

Disc of the late Ibrahím Ferrer in the spotlight in Spain

Liberators of Latin America will gather filmmakers and heroes

A cycle of telefilms dedicated to important personalities in the history of Latin America is the new project undergoing preparations by Spanish producer José María Morales, who is closely linked to the New Latin American Cinema, by co-producing with ICAIC movies like Suite Habana and Madrigal, both directed by Cuban Fernando Pérez.

Poor Cinema Festival through TeleSur

Latin American TV channel TeleSur will co-auspice the 5th International Poor Cinema Festival of Gibara, the events central venue running from April 16 to 22 including sub-venues in Holguín, Velasco and Santiago de Cuba for the second time.
